Get ready for a 2 night, 3 day canoe safari that takes you from Victoria Falls into the heart of the Zambezi National Park. You’ll paddle downriver through thrilling rapids, soak up the river’s serene beauty, and enjoy lunch on the riverbank. As the sun sets, glamp in style right on the river’s edge, with the sounds of nature lulling you to sleep. Adventure and tranquility wrapped up in one unforgettable trip!

2 night camping canoe safari trip in the Zambezi National Park, upstream from the Victoria Falls.

Tents and food are provided with back up camping safari staff including a chef, waiter and camp hands.
Two person stand in dome tents including mattresses, sleeping bags as well as liners.
All canoe trips are run in self-paddle two person inflatable canoes.
Minimum age limit is 9 years and no maximum age limit but sound judgement should be used.
No previous canoeing experience is necessary but guests are required to be reasonably fit and healthy.
Animals that may be seen on safari include buffalo, elephant, impala, waterbuck, hippo, crocodile, lion, leopard, hyena etc. Birdlife is plentiful.
We do not recommend you take valuables with you on the river.
Climate: November to April are the summer months (which is also the rainy season) while winter is from May to August (which usually brings dry weather). September and October are very hot and very dry. The winter months from May to August can bring freezing temperatures (below 0°C sometimes) in the early morning and evenings.

Road transfers from Victoria Falls to and from the safari.
All meals - dietary preferences catered for with at least 14 days advance warning.
Drinks - including tea, coffee, cordials, imported wines with dinner and 2 litres of mineral water per person per day. No alcohol, other than wine with dinner each evening, or soft drinks are provided. Cooler boxes are provided if guests would like to take their own alcohol, soft drinks and additional bottled water (Drinks must be bought in cans to reduce weight and space).
Limited beer and soft-drinks, mineral water are provided as well as a bottle of wine per 2 guests per day.
All canoeing equipment - self-paddle two person inflatable canoes.
All camping equipment - two person stand in dome tents including mattresses, sleeping bags as well as liners.

Detailed itinerary

Guests are collected from Victoria Falls Town at approximately 07h00. Clients take a one and a half hours’ game drive (50kms) in an open safari vehicle into the Zambezi National Park to the launch site.

A continental breakfast is served and the guide will give a thorough briefing, which will cover; conditions of the river and rapids, canoeing instruction, safety and general information. Clients will be asked to sign an indemnity form.

The first day is spent canoeing 18kms downstream, running small grade one and two rapids, exploring channels and bird and game viewing. A picnic lunch is served on the main land or an island. Clients will canoe into camp on the afternoon of the first day.
